LOTR: Return of the King

All I can say is "Wow." I don't think I caught it all, I don't think the overwhelming grandeur of this Epic-to-Beat-All-Epics has sunk in yet. I litterally sat on the edge of my seat for the last half of the movie. I shouted with glee and stared, eyes popping out of my head and jaw gaping for a large portion of the movie. I was ready for a spectacular show after reading Stephen Notley's review yesterday, and I was not dissapointed.

I'm going to see it again. And again and again and again.

The Book of Ratings

Have you ever wondered what kind of soda drink flavour category Mountain Dew fits into? "Mountain Dew is lemon-lime in spite of being made out of squeezings from the adrenal glands of snowboarders." Point.

Written by Lore Sjoberg, The Book of Ratings features an opinion on everything from Canadian snack foods to wart remedies. The ratings were formerly a part of The Brunching Shuttlecocks, a humour site whose authors have unfortunately moved on. Some projects live on, so I recommend a visit to the site anyway.

Replete with sarcastic wit and commentary on today's society, I found this set of ratings particularly enjoyable.

And what geek could resist a rating on Star Trek alien makeup or keyboard symbols?

"Many say that DOS is the dark side, but actually UNIX is more like the dark side: It's less likely to find the one way to destroy your incredibly powerful machine, and more likely to make upper management choke."

Happy rating reading!

Birthday Bash x2

First off, thanks to everyone who made it out Wednesday or Friday, and a huge congrats to those who made it out both nights! You deserve to be in a picture! In fact, you probably should be in some of them below!! ;)
Wednesday, we started out at RATT which was slightly crowded when we got there, but emptied out at the night went on. Unfortunately there weren't any pictures from this part of the night. But someone got a hold of my camera at the bbq, and I've ended up with some interesting and amusing photos. One could even be considered disturbing (hey, don't say I didn't warn ya!)... But it from the href="http://www.ee.ualberta.ca/~mayoh/photos/Dec3bbq/IMG_0446.jpg">looks of it, people were having a good time. Rock Lock! Yeah.

Friday, we started out at BP's with not one, not two, but THREE Center Ice. My girls from rez came along and made me do my first blow job, and my first muff dive (I think Gayle was paying me back from her birthday...). We then headed to Black Dog to hang out at the Underdog (downstairs). We ended up back at my place for cheaper drinks and, apparently, a little spring cleaning! ;) Too bad Wade doesn't remember this part...

Thanks again to everyone who came out and made this an awesome birthday!

Google Search: define: polyhedron

Google Search: define: polyhedron

Jesse and I are trying to figure out what the name of any three dimensional shape is called, generically speaking. Just like you can name a two-dimensional four-sided shape a "quadrilateral," what would you call a four-sided three-dimensional object? Or an n-dimensional object (where an is an integer greater than 3)? Well, Jesse remembered the tetrahedron, which is basically a pyramid (he guarantees it), so we decided to look up "polyhedron."

Google

Search: define: polyhedron

I don't think this is what we were looking for. It all sounds very nice, but I don't understand any of it. Hey, I only got a 5 in Linear Algebra! If anyone knows the answer to this question, let me know!!!!

PS. "Blog This" rules!
